Singer/songwriter Jack Murray, a native of Sevierville, TN, now living in Kempton, PA -is finally making his Godfrey Daniels debut after many years of making music in these parts. He was a founding member of country-rock band “Golden Rocket” in the late 70s, virtually defining the “Americana” classification a decade or two before the term was adopted -with a unique mix of folk, blues, “roots” rock & roll, and country music. He’s played in countless other musical combinations while successfully writing for Nashville recording artists and providing his various bands with strong and witty original material.
A burst of writing in the past few years has launched him out of a premature “retirement” and into becoming a popular headlining act as a singer/songwriter at, among other venues, Landhaven in Huffs Church, PA as well as co-hosting (with “Manatee” Karl Frick) the (in)famous Thursday night “Barto Jam” -now at Alexander’s in New Jerusalem.
His (overdue) debut CD “Then There’s That...” recorded and produced with Karl Frick at LakeStone Studios in Barto, was released in December of 2007, featuring his own songs and unique guitar styings.
Jack will be appearing at Landhaven on January 19th (with the Fabulous Henways) and makes his solo debut at Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem, PA on February 9th -sharing the bill with Brooks Williams.
